Meet the developers
You can see all the hacks and winners here. It’s been a hectic week, yet we managed to gather a few interviews with developers so you can witness firsthand the diversity, maturity, and talent available for your projects and internships.
If you have an internship or project need on vCon, vCon TADHack demonstrates the amazing talent available. More on this in a later post (I’ll add the link soon).
Sabrina
We kick off with Sabrina, the creator of Reflecta and a vCon TADHack winner. She is an undergraduate student at Valencia College. This was her first experience with vCon.
As you hear in the interview, Sabrina brings significant real world experience. This means a broad business understanding, and refined communication skills. Valencia college has many such students, it’s one of the reasons I work with Valencia College every year, plus they are really nice people.
One of the things I’ve noticed is some people’s brains develop differently. For the Brits in the audience who will understand, at 18 I achieved 5 grade A ‘A’ levels (Math, Further Math, Physics, Chemistry, General Studies, and Economics (later)), as well as 2 S Levels in Maths and Physics. Over the decades I’ve met people who accelerated passed me later in life, Valencia enables mature students to get caught up between their abilities and qualifications.
Amandu
Next is Amandu from Nigeria, a recent graduate., with vCase. vCase is a vCon-powered platform that turns one-off reports into rich, ongoing conversations with support organizations. It combines voice transcripts, SMS, and email into one centralized thread for each case, making follow-up effortless and transparent.
It’s a service that meets a significant need in Nigeria. Amandu and his parents are building out the platform, which was developed as part of his degree.
This is an example of the real-world impact developers have in their countries. And the role TADHack has played over the years in helping talented people use prize money to build their solutions. You’ll hear later from Ziyad who also did this with OneCenter.
Ziyad
Juggling people’s availability around the world means we run conference calls with interfering NORAD facilities in the background, while Thomas was driving passed. Connecting Ziyad and Thomas was great. As mentioned above Ziyad is a previous winner.
On June 12th Ziyad sent an email to me. Yes, the date of the submission deadline:
“Hope its not too late to register, I have been having second thoughts, since I am not a developer, and I don’t have anyone to partner with.
But then I saw the vCon Tadhack resources video where Thomas stated anyone can participate. Long story short I did some toying around and I have a hack.”
Well, Ziyad did submit and won. He’s had winning hacks in the past, here from 2023.
This hack is focused on how organizations can use VCONS to gain insights on activities across several departments through customer feedback and use the findings to figure out problems and improve operations across all departments.
As mentioned in the session, the skills Ziyad has built can be used for many consulting projects around Nigeria.
Bello
We end with Bello from Kenya, with supernova, an AI-powered voice conversation intelligence dashboard that transforms VCON files into rich, actionable insights. Users can get a bird’s-eye view of all calls, check general sentiment and compliance risks, and even deep dive into individual conversations. An AI assistant is integrated to help users ask natural-language questions about their calls and instantly get answers — because it understands the data.
Bello, Ziyad, Ahmadu, and many more TADHackers are available for internships and projects.
An important note to telcos
To all the carriers around the world, world-class talent is on your doorstep. Since 2014 TADHack has demonstrated that fact.
